چکیده

This paper studies the phase and gain control dependencies of a variable amplifier (VGA) vector interpolator shifter (VIPS) within 20 GHz beamforming receiver. First, mechanisms variation in classic current-steering VGA are analyzed design techniques proposed such that gain-dependent variations (GDPV) introduced by amplifiers well balanced. Second, similar analysis is performed to evaluate GDPV interpolator, where we show how same only partially apply due cross-coupling structure interpolator’s VGAs. We our receiver IC realized GlobalFoundries 45 nm RFSOI. Very low observed VGA, with less than 0.3-deg. root-mean squared for 9 dB control, whereas VIPS achieves worst-case 14 deg. The full beamformer channel 29 gain, 2.2-2.4 noise figure, -26 dBm input 1 compression consumes 111 mW. Based on these results, improvements validated through simulation. result near-ideal Cartesian has 2-deg. very crosstalk between

A Low-Power 2.4-GHz Transmitter/Receiver CMOS IC

A 2.4-GHz CMOS receiver/transmitter incorporates circuit stacking and noninvasive baseband filtering to achieve a high sensitivity with low power dissipation. Using a single 1.6-GHz local oscillator, the transceiver employs two upconversion and downconversion stages while providing on-chip image rejection filtering. Realized in a 0.25m digital CMOS technology, the receiver exhibits a noise figu...

A low phase noise 20 GHz voltage control oscillator using 0.18-μm CMOS technology

A low phase noise, small power dissipation and small sized K-band cascode differential voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) with capacitive feedback topology using 0.18 μm CMOS technology is described. The VCO operated can be tuned between 19.1 GHz and 20.9 GHz and has low phase noise of -108.67 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset. The output power of the 20.7 GHz is about -21.12 dBm. The Figure of merit (...
